Title: Best movie of 2010 "official" badmovies.org poll
Post by: Rev. Powell on December 25, 2010, 08:37:09 PM
There were a lot fewer nominations for best movie of the year than worst movie of the year (I guess that's to be expected on a bad movies board, right?)  I saw 8 out of these and my favorite was INCEPTION, though I have a feeling it's going to come in 2nd place.  Interestingly, THE EXPENDABLES was the only movie nominated for both the best and worst movie of the year.

Go ahead and vote, the poll closes Jan 1.

Toy Story 3 for me.  An inspiring and beyond touching ending to a beloved trilogy.  And yes, I'm one of the grown men who cried at the end and will never deny it.

Wait a minute!  Wasn't The Happening back in 2009?

May have been, I didn't go back and check the copyright dates for all the nominations.  I honestly don't think we have to worry about it causing a controversy by winning, though.

Of the ones listed, I picked Toy Story 3.  Just heart-wrenching.

But, in my humble opinon, MacGruber should've been on the list.  Damn fine film.

And, while far from being one of the 'greatest' of all times, Jackass 3D was a vastly ENJOYABLE film for what it was.  And the ending was quite sad too.

I've got to go with Piranha 3D.  I really want to vote for The Expendables but Piranha 3D is the only horror movie I've seen in a long time to actually be horrifying.  The feeding frenzy stuck with me and seriously bothered me for a while.  That's exactly what should happen when I see a horror movie.

I've only seen six of the "Best" list.  But of those, TOY STORY 3 gets my nod.

You had a chance to nominate it!

But MACGRUBER is on the "worst of 2010" poll...

I haven't been around much to nominate anything.  It's a brilliantly done spy spoof.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.  I HATED  :hatred: :hatred: :hatred: that movie!!!!!  It was like having someone moon you and shoot you the bird at the same time for an hour and a half.

I voted for Scott Pilgrim, although it was kind of a toss-up with Inception.  My real choice would have to be True Grit, though.  I totally loved it.

You mean a guy who walks about with celery in his butt as a distraction doesn't amuse you?

If it was here I would pick Shutter Island. I still haven't seen Inception. So i'm voting for Toy Story 3. Maybe the first time i've felt true nostalgia from a film.

I enjoyed MacGruber as well.  Not my favorite of 2010 though.

BTW, everyone who saw it with me hated it.  Kind of felt bad about that actually.

Toy Story 3 gets my vote.  Inception behind it, though True Grit would've beat Inception if it was on the poll.

None of those, unfortunately. My best 2010 movie is Darfur [aka Attack On Darfur] directed by Uwe Boll. It was one of the most gut-wrenchingly violent and emotional films I have ever seen.

Directed by Uwe Boll...  most emotional film you seen in a while.  Hmm... what kind of emotion are talking about?

Virtually everyone I know who saw it liked it.  I wouldn't say it's my all-time favorite of 2010, but in the top 5.  Toy Story 3 and Jackass 3D beat it out for me.  But they took a one note character and made a 90 minute film work.  Hard to do.

Yeah, too bad TRUE GRIT came out too late to be nominated.  It would have been a viable choice.

Tooth Fairy is funny.

All credit to The Rock.  He's successfully transitioned from wrestling to the movies, unlike Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, Ric Flair, or John Cena.

Toy Story 3, it throws your emotions about toys the limit and, as stated by Buzz:" To infinity and BEYOND!"
Toy Story 3 got my vote.

Because you didn't nominate it in the "nominations" poll.   People are saying goods things about it, but the trailer made it look like a ROCKY knockoff.

I voted for How to Train Your Dragon. Funny, clever, action packed, good characters, nice visuals, and fairly original. Just a well put together animated feature, and it was something the whole family could watch. Plus, it's a movie I've already watched a couple of times, and would have no trouble watching again. Can't say that about very many movies that have come out in the past decade or so.

I very much wanted to say The Expendables, but in spite of having a cast that just completely kicked ass, it was a pretty standard action movie.

Now that I've had a chance to see a couple more movies, my vote would go to THE FIGHTER (which isn't on the list).  As for "most bizarrely entertaining," I'd vote for MACHETE.

I'd have picked Tron: Legacy if only I had seen it sooner.  It blew everything else I saw this year clear out of the water.

I figured the same thing, which is why I voted for Kick-Ass.  Might as well give the underdog at least one vote, especially since it was the movie that took me by surprise the most last year.
