Title: Writer/Director of Bloodsucking Freaks
Post by: vanlutz on March 06, 2011, 01:32:49 PM
Joel Reed the writer/director of Bloodsucking Freaks came in to audition for a small role in my next movie "Leading Lady".

He was a funny, very nice old gentleman. Most of the men that came in were very good. But, to have Joel Reed in my flick would be super cool.

Cool!

What are planing on calling this movie, and what's it about? Also have you made any other movies?

It's a drama called "LEADING LADY".

Young girl comes to NY to be a star, and she's not very successful. But, she's given advice on how to dress for auditions. Things start picking up for her once she heeds the advice. But, how far is too far to fulfill your artistic dream?

Believe you me, it's not at all what you think.

Mr Reed would be playing a kind, blind, old man that Nancy (heroine) helps.

My first movie US SINNERS has been a love it or hate it movie. Thankfully more people love it then hate it. You can rent it on Netflix.

No Netflix in South Africa sadly but I would love to buy that.

Mr Reed is going to be playing Mr. Peterman in Leading Lady. We're psyched.

My movie-making partner was like "Get him! Get him!". He's a huge grindhouse movie fan, and Bloodsucking Freaks is one of his favorites.

Trevor: I don't have many copies to sell. American Horrors has the distribution rights. But, if you're a gambling man, here's an offer.

I have some copies that I'm selling for our kickstarter campaign. The problem is, I'm not big on pushing and promoting. I post messages at a few forums and no one really cares.

For a $30 pledge (it's $5 more because you're out of the US), you get your name in the Thank You credits of Leading Lady, and a copy of Us Sinners.

My goal is $2300. I have one person pledging (a relative of the star). So, I'm only off by $2200.

If you make a $30 pledge, and we don't make our goal (what's the chance of that?) I'll send you a copy of Us Sinners for free. If we meet the goal (it'll be a miracle) then you have to pay the $30 and get a copy of Us Sinners.

Oh, plus it's autographed by me. That adds absolutely nothing to the value.

So, if you're a gambling man. At this point, there isn't much of a gamble.

I don't get how this kickstarter works. I saw a project that was given over a hundred thousand dollars, and on IMDB it's still in pre-production.

With or without kickstarter Leading Lady will get made.
