Title: YouTube - anybody else having problems?
Post by: Allhallowsday on March 15, 2011, 09:45:31 PM
I am circumnavigating YouTube to avoid linking and no matter what I do, I am too often stymied at any attempt to just access normally and get over there and find a video... what's happening?  "Link account with Google"  HUH??   I won't.

YouTube and Google merged/made a deal and as part of the deal was that if you want keep a YouTube account is that you must create a Google account. Personally, I think that it's  a stupid requirement as those who make a Google account just to have a YouTube account will NEVER ever check their google account.

I have to check my Google account, otherwise I would not know when a comment or something was posted.  That's precisely their devious plan!

But you should be fine if you are only browsing and watching other people's videos, right?  Forcing non-uploaders to get Google accounts would be highly counterproductive.

I'm sure you can also check for comments and other stuff in your YouTube profile, I do it all the time.
YouTube made me sign in through my Google account last year but all notifications, updates etc still goes through my old e-mail address. YouTube/Google hasn't forced me to change that ... yet.

The guys at YouTube are greedy corporate hacks. I've been with that site what's going on 8 years now and they just keep bending us over and [NAUGHTY PARTS DELETED].

They keep changing formats, doing away with the star system, censoring us, and making us watch ads. I HATE it!  :hatred:

Sometimes I wonder if I should ever log on again. Then I remember I still have videos to post.

I think they're doing it to collect more consumer information. If I watch a martial arts video on Youtube ads for martial arts books, tapes and schools start showing up on other pages I visit, even my home page.

I'm hating this change.  I don't want to create a Google account and I don't often sign into YouTube, but once in awhile (particularly when I see ignorant comments about videos) I want to comment and inform.  Can't do that anymore.   :hatred:  Give users something, then, take it away.  I hate websites changing, particularly this radically.  It sucks.

I don't know if this is relevant, but youtube has super slow lately. it took me almost five minutes to post a video to facebook. I know it's not my connection or computer. it has to be the site. anyone else having this problem?
