Title: Short film: woman's car trouble, suspected killer stops to help
Post by: rynn on March 20, 2011, 01:44:36 AM
Hi. I'm looking for a short film I saw about ten years ago. I want to say it was on IFC or some other reputable channel. I think the setting was British, possibly Scottish.

It was about a woman whose car breaks down on the side of a desolate, possibly mountainous road. She's wary because a killer has recently escaped and is thought to be in that area (she might have heard this news on the radio or read about it in the newspaper...I think there was a sketch of him on the front page). A man pulls over to help her, and the whole time he's trying to identify the problem and help her fix the car, she's really jumpy and maybe even unfriendly because she suspects it's him.

Eventually, another car passes by. When it stops, she manages to get away - I think she hits the man with a crowbar or something - and darts for the car. She hops into the back seat and lets out a relieved sigh, telling the new driver (there might have also been a female passenger) how grateful she is they stopped because it allowed her to get away from the suspected killer. That's when the driver turns around and reveals his face - it matches the newspaper sketch perfectly. There might be a close-up of her shocked face before the short film ends.

Any help? I don't even vaguely remember the title, and all the keywords I've typed in haven't yielded results.
