Title: What does everyone think of The Fly II Post by: Robocop on May 03, 2011, 12:35:44 AM I'm talking about the sequel to Cronenberg's 1986 remake which is not to be confused with either of the sequels attached to the original 1958 film.

I will say that Bartok's fate is the second most disturbing thing I've ever seen in a movie. (The first being the entirety of John Carpenter's The Thing.) It may not be up to par with the first movie, but it's still a fun ride.

The acting was typically bad, the script was problematic, the direction was all over the place, the pacing was slow and the Fly design wasn't as good as the one used in Cronenberg's film. Some of the deaths were creative but it was missing that sick, grotesque vibe.
The only element I really liked about the story was Marty's relationship with the dog, which even as the Fly he showed compassion for, even though that was a different dog all together.
