Title: Ah, memories!
Post by: The Burgomaster on May 09, 2011, 12:18:56 PM
Here are some examples of GREAT television programming from when I was a teenager growing up in the Greater Boston area.  These clips are from Channel 56, which was an independent UHF channel back in the day.  Fond, fond memories!

The only one I remember around here was hosted by a grossly fat hillbilly and a skeleton.

The clips I posted are actually "newer" ones (from the early 1980s).  I remember watching CREATURE FEATURE as far back as when I was about 6 or 7 years old around 1970 or 71.

Those Channel 56 promos used to freak me out when I was a really young kid growing up in Worcester.

The only thing scarier were episodes of Community Auditions

I remember it well.  Dave Maynard was the host.  He also taught communications classes at Boston University when I went there.  There was also an eye doctor's office in Malden,MA called "Community Opticians."  I'm not sure if it's still there.
