According to Annie Jacobsen, the reporter who authored "Area 51," the spaceship was actually a Soviet spy plane that came down during a storm. Jacobsen claims it was filled with bizarre, genetically engineered child-sized pilots. I,a confessed ufo believer,dont believe any of it.neither explanation makes sense. The Airforce gives off 3 stories now. Horse s**t. The first-it was a flying saucer. Second-a ballon. Third-Soviet midgets. We'll never know.

Oh-by the way-Area 51 has nothing to do with the Roswell incident.That makes me suspect in itself. 2 seperate incidents. UFO/ALIEN X file fans get so many legends and stories confused-it puts a bad light on true investigation. Roswell is something-as is the Arizona lights-but mixing it up with little green man autopsys is detrimental to true research.

Someone once pointed out that there was quite a bit of strange things happening in Area 51 during the time before our stealth fighters and bombers went into use. I've always thought of Area 51 being a testing grounds.

Well, to be fair to the unknown, and it's heavy presence here, it's no mystery that between Nazi Germany and The Soviet Union, there were some VERY creepy things being worked on and developed. 

Between Hitler's use of the occult and the then-previously unknown tech both countries were trying to develop, God only know WHAT the case is. 

While Germany was busy developing tech (with occasional forays into the occult) I have little doubt that after WW2, the Russians were indeed more into human experimentation as a continuation of the German quest for the "uber-soldat," or super soldier.

Between the knowledge that German and Russian scientists no doubt shared as Germany crumbled around them, again, God only knows WHAT they worked on, or what they developed.  WW2 hasn't given up all of it's secrets, and most likely never will.

I heard this woman on the radio. Basically it seemed like the book was pretty boring until the last chapter when she let loose with this story by some old guy she knows from her research. the host was like "why didn't the US go to the press with this" like wouldn't it be good pr to point out that your enemies have genetically altered children and sent them to you? The asnwer was the US wanted to use the technology!

that doesn't make much sense. WHy would they want to try and use the same trick on the people who sent that one.

It didn't seem to stand up to much scrutiny. IN the end she was like "he was my friend and he wouldn't lie".

Hmm..all fact and\or fiction aside, this sounds like it might have been a partial inspiration for the somewhat-recent FPS game Singularity that touches on a number of post WW2 Soviet experiments that include thegentic alteration of kids and other little things making for a pretty creepy game experience.
