I'm sorry the guy got killed but he had absolutely no business owning, or even holding, a gun.

I'm thinking the gun probably didn't have adequate warning labels on it.

My father told me about a guy in my hometown he once knew.  He was a nutjob who loved his guns.  He'd literally point them at  his head to demonstrate how good the safety was on them.  His last words to his kids were something like "watch how good these safeties are".

My father told me about a guy in my hometown he once knew.  He was a nutjob who loved his guns.  He'd literally point them at  his head to demonstrate how good the safety was on them.  His last words to his kids were something like "watch how good these safeties are". 

The best safety is keeping your damn finger away from the trigger until you want to fire.  It astonishes me that a lot of people apparently can't grasp this concept.

The best safety is keeping your damn finger away from the trigger until you want to fire.  It astonishes me that a lot of people apparently can't grasp this concept.

A kindred spirit to that lawyer in Toronto who liked to demonstrate how safe his highrise office was by throwing himself against the windows.

Safety features are not there to be tested. They're a backup for caution and common sense. Treat every gun like it's ready to fire.
