Post by: dean on July 16, 2011, 09:00:17 AM I am a big svankmajer fan and was lucky enough to see lunacy at the Melbourne international film festival in a packed crowd a few years ago. Man I loved it and my friend and I were pretty much the only people laughing. Don't know why because that film screams for more audience participating.
The intro by svankmajer himself was hilarious as well. God I love surrealist film! As for dead leaves I did love the insanity of it. It's a good movie to watch If you want to have a seizure. Most fans seem to think LUNACY is Svankmajer's weakest film... I think I agree, but that's only because the rest of them are so great! I'd still rate LUNACY a 3.5/5, which is pretty impressive for somebody's worst film. DEAD LEAVES is an experience... I can't say I really liked it but I'm glad I saw it.
