I think I'm the oldest member here, so I got to see many of the BAD MOVIES before some of you were even born! I even got to see many of the movies in movie theaters when they first came out and all for a grand total of 25 cents! Now I get to see them with a senior discount! In spirit, I think I'm still largely a child - I still love the same stuff I did as a kid and teen (pro wrestling, comic books, superheroes, monsters, B-Movies, Kung Fu films). I'm told I don't look my age and in fact have been mistaken for being much younger.

It's funny, because most of the time I do not know how old I am. I actually have to do the math to figure it out (present year minus my age of birth). Going to be 40 this fall and still trying to figure out how that happened. Being the youngest in my family by a few years, I grew up being the kid among adults. Not used to being older than other people.
I realized a couple of years ago that in the last 20 years I've gone from being excited about my birthday to viewing it with indifference to thinking "Oh s**t, not another one." This year, while casually admiring an attractive young woman of 18 or 19, I had my first instance of thinking "I'm old enough to be her father." That was interesting, but very unsettling. Counting my age of 43, it makes for a mean (average) age of 36.8. The median age is 37. I guess I learned something from my statistics class.

Me too, I have to do the math every time. Sometime after 30 I stopped counting, or caring, about the actual number. Right now I think of myself as "in my 40s" rather than "43."
