Title: Hammer horror writer Jimmy Sangster dies at 83.
Post by: Hammock Rider on August 23, 2011, 05:41:42 PM
Hey guys,
I'm not sure where this belongs but I thought Good Movies was appropriate for the guy who wrote The Curse of Frankenstein and The Horror of Dracula, among others.

I love the Cushing/Lee Hammer flicks.  They don't make 'em like that anymore.  RIP, Mr. Sangster.

RIP. I love his work on the earlier Frankenstein films. Turning the Doctor into the real monster and the creatures into his victims was a touch of genius.

RIP. I love his work on the earlier Frankenstein films. Turning the Doctor into the real monster and the creatures into his victims was a touch of genius.

Sangster's scripts for the first two Frankenstein films were excellent, especially the amazing gut-punch he delivered to the audience at the end of Revenge of Frankenstein.

He should also be given much praise for his work on X: The Unknown.  Who the hell else ever thought of using radioactive mud as a monster?
