Here's a foreign movie classic directed by Louis Malle I just watched for the first time.

* POSSIBLE MILD SPOILERS AHEAD (but I won't reveal the ending)*

In a Hitchcockian plot, a businessman named Tavernier (Maurice Ronet), who is in love with his boss' wife Florence (Jeanne Moreau), murders his boss in his office and makes it appear to be a suicide.  Tavernier returns to the office building to retrieve a piece of evidence he left behind, but gets trapped in the elevator when the power goes off.  Through the night, a series of events occur involving a miniature camera, a stolen car, a pistol, two young lovers, German tourists, Florence, and Tavernier's attempts to escape from the elevator.  These events all lead to a series of bizarre twists and cases of mistaken identity that will keep you in suspense to the very end.  This is a "must see" thriller.  Put it on your list.
