Title: Wolverine to lead the X-Men?
Post by: BTM on September 28, 2011, 05:05:12 PM
So, according to this Yahoo article, in the next issue of Uncanny X-Men, WOLVERINE will be the new headmaster of the school.

Er... huh, dunno what to say about that.

Now, I've always like the X-Men comics, but I haven't been able to keep up with them very much because of financial probs (sometimes I'll buy a tradepaperback, but usually I'll just read up on current storylines on various fan web sites.

I guess I'm a bit confused by this move.  I know in some issues of X-Men Wolverine did take a more active role in the school's running but still... last, I checked, Wolverine was recently abducted by The Hand, brainwashed, killed several people (including North Star, but I don't think that stuck), was REcaptured, brainwashed back to normal, and wiped out about a thousand bad guys in the whole Public Enemy saga (a good book, BTW), and then, even more recently, his soul was sent to hell while his body was possessed by a demon and went on another rampage.  Not sure I'd WANT that to run a school, considering how prone he is to possession induced rampages.

Not to mention that last I checked, Wolverine also had his own solo series and was with the Avengers (course, Marvel's been doing the whole "spread Wolverine out as much as possible" thing for awhile now.

I dunno.  Any of you who keep up with the comics have any thoughts on this?
