Title: Snow White and the Huntsman's Trailer is Released
Post by: InformationGeek on November 12, 2011, 08:56:31 PM
Looks kind of cool, but I'm a bit hesitant to see it.  I'm getting bad vibes emanating from it when I look at the whole package (Not because of the actress, because I know she can be good after seeing Welcome to the Rileys).  Anyhow, care to weigh in?

It's "from the producers of ALICE IN WONDERLAND."  I have low expectations.

I find myself completely uninterested.

Also, what the heck is the huntsman doing at 1:07 - 1:10?

TAKE THIS, AIR!  RARRRRRRRRRR!

The casting of the seven dwarves should tell you there is some hope for this one: Ian McShane, Nick Frost, Bob Hoskins (!), Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Brian Gleeson and Ray Winstone.  The visuals are also fairly interesting.  I don't know if this'll be good (first time director, so things could go to either extreme) but it doesn't have crap written all over it like Red Riding Hood did.

I have to admit, on paper it sounded terrible, but the trailer actually looked pretty reasonable.  I'm not expecting genius, but this has made me sit up and at least notice...

You have a ways to make you your mind as to whether to see it or not, as it is not scheduled for release here in the U.S. to June 1 of next year.

I do plan to see it, after seeing the trailer. Though, there are two things about it, that give me pause.

(1) I am planning on seeing it, if only to prove that it'll suck, which is a bad attitude for me to take to a film. I ought to go into a film thinking I might like it, and then I might like it.

And (2) alot of people have said, after seeing the trailer, it is a "good" looking film, and I nearly always associate that with a film that is "all style and no substance."

But we'll come see come saw in June.
