Title: Which movie have you watched more than any other?
Post by: The Burgomaster on November 28, 2011, 04:10:25 PM
For me, it's THE GODFATHER.  I saw it at the drive-in, on VHS, cable, DVD, and regular television (for awhile, they showed THE GODFATHER: THE COMPLETE NOVEL FOR TELEVISION, every year.  This is a re-edited version of the first two GODFATHER movies assembled into a mini-series).  I have seen many movies multiple times, but none nearly as many times as THE GODFATHER.  Some others on my "watch them over and over" list are:

* WAR OF THE WORLDS (Gene Barry version)
* JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH (James Mason version)
* DELIVERANCE
* TAXI DRIVER
* NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (original)
* DAWN IF THE DEAD (original)
* DIRTY HARRY
* THE FRENCH CONNECTION
* SHAFT (original)
* BULLITT
* SCARFACE (Al Pacino version)
* PAPILLON
* MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL
* Plenty of others!

Which movie(s) have you watched ad nauseam?

I've probably seen it well over 5 times.  Does that count?   :teddyr:

I can proudly say that I saw it during its original theatrical release!

Pretty much.  :smile: :teddyr:

So did I ~ with my Dad in a Cape Town cinema in December 1981. Oddly enough, it was rated A here then, despite the horrible censorship system in effect then but was rated R in the States.  :question:

Probably THE CHRISTMAS STORY since it comes on every year and I always watch at least a piece of it.

Other than that, I've seen NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD a bunch of times.  And THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE (if you include the MST3K version).  And I've seen THEY SAVED HITLER'S BRAIN more than any sane person should.

I'm not really one to re-watch old movies, I'd rather go check out something I haven't seen before.  I've rarely seen anything more than 3 times.  Whenever I review a movie I like to watch it 2-3 times, if possible.

It's a great movie!

I love this comment about Dune from Roger Ebert: "This movie is a real mess, an incomprehensible, ugly, unstructured, pointless excursion into the murkier realms of one of the most confusing screenplays of all time."
