Title: BLASTFIGHTER (1984)
Post by: The Burgomaster on December 06, 2011, 09:37:36 AM
Yes, it's another cheapo, dubbed Italian movie starring Michael Sopkiw of 2019: AFTER THE FALL OF NEW YORK fame.  This time he plays "Tiger," an ex-cop who spent time in prison for killing a criminal in cold blood.  He returns to his rural hometown in Georgia and confronts rednecks who are shooting deer and selling them to an Asian guy who uses them to "make medicine."  At the beginning of the movie, Sopkiw gets a really cool shotgun with various types of ammunition.  So, you'd expect he'd use this weapon to kill people throughout the movie in an entertaining orgy of violence.  Not so.  He barely uses the damned thing until about the final 10 minutes, and even then it isn't very exciting.  The DVD-R cover art shows Sopkiw in a sleeveless shirt with ammo belts wrapped around him holding his weapon.  The tag line is:  "If they had only left him alone."  Yeah, right.  Co-starring George Eastman, who was in numerous Italian imports in the 1980s.  The best part of the movie is the country & western theme song, written by the Bee Gees!
