Title: 10 Fashion Trends for Kids that Should Die Off from 2011
Post by: InformationGeek on January 02, 2012, 10:27:38 PM
While the movie industry stays the on the same level as always and video games continuing to get better and better, the fashion industry sinks to new lows this past year.  My god, this is bad.  Some of them I think are just silly, but the others freak the hell out of me.  How could any rational individual come up with some of these ideas?!

I won't say anything, but 8 and 5 are clearly the worst ever.  *Shivers*

Hair feathers could look good - in theory.  I don't think I've ever seen it in practice though.  And those low rise jeans, good god.  We were walking through a store one day and a young girl was bending over showing us a nice plumber's crack.  This is someone's idea of attractive?  It's about as unflattering to a woman's shape as you can possibly get too.  Here's a nice curvy area - let's run a pants waistband right across the middle of it and destroy the entire aesthetic appeal.

By rejecting many of the trappings of the contemporary, I've also managed to thankfully reject even knowing about this stuff.  I had no idea....never even heard of some of the stores they are talking about, much less the 'fashions.'

Wow.

Said it before, and I'll say it again...we need a return to "class."

"I'm too pretty to do homework"?

Abercrombie needs to be erased from the face of the earth.  There is no reason ever for a 7 year old to have thong underwear or a padded bra.

One other really stupid recent trend - the military-style boots for women that have open toes.  WTF?

What I don't get is, How do they expect to run from the cops with their pants around their knees?

I liked one of the reader comments.

"Hey Moms and Dads...kids don't have jobs so we have to buy their clothes...just don't buy it...end of discussion."

Bravo!

Like I've always said, the kids aren't to blame. The parents are.

Most of those things I agree with, but I like hair feathers!!  What's wrong with another thing to do with your hair?  There's nothing smutty about hair feathers!   I haven't been able to get any yet, so it better stay in style for at least another 6 months sos I can get my hands on them!

One thing I noticed that's not on the list is girls, and now I see some guys, going out in their pajama pants.. and not just to run to the pharmacy or get the mail, but going out to restaurants, malls, parks, etc. in just their stupid frumpy dumpy pajama pants!  Since when is it cool not to get dressed!?  I will admit, when I was a teen and had roomates, we'd go to the 711 and local diners in our pajama pants, but that's because our pajamas were cool!  They had stuff like powerpuff girls and skulls and cheeseburgers on them!  We were making a statement of how tasteful our choice in warm bedtime attire was, but now I see all these kids going out in stupid plaid or solid color baggy butt pajama pants.

im glad those pointy elf shoes for ladies are going out of style

I hate those shoes so much.  Women go around complaining that their feet are too big, so their solution is to wear shoes that make them look even bigger!  Great idea ladies.

Sorry guys but I'm going to prison. My ISP caught me looking at that website and I'm being arrested for looking at child pornography.

Well so long!  As long as no one finds out what you are in for, you should be somewhat okay.

Probably so.  Don't worry, jails provide nice looking clothing as long as you like orange.  :tongueout:
