Title: Star Wars Uncut: The Director's Cut
Post by: TheDope on January 21, 2012, 10:14:20 PM
Seeing as there wasn't a section for "The Most Awesome Ideas Ever", I thought it best to post this here.

Have you heard of Star Wars Uncut (http://www.starwarsuncut.com/)?  This was an idea from Casey Pugh, a developer over at Vimeo, who came up with the fantastic idea of having different people from all over taking Star Wars (naturally), filming their own interpretations of certain 15-second segments, then certain segments were chosen and edited back together to make the whole film, albeit a version that it is a certain guarantee that you have NEVER seen before in you life.

I guarantee you, this is one of the most amazing things you will ever see in your life and, even if you're not a SW fan, you WILL be a fan of this telling.

Hope you don't have any plans for the next two hours or so....

Now, how about some of your opines on this?  Like?  Hate?  George Lucas-like indifference?

That's hilarious!  I only watched the first 8 minutes but I'll have to check out more tonight.  Switching from one person's work to another mid-scene is good for endless entertainment   :teddyr:

I love it! It's really interesting to see how creative so many of these people got with their tiny little segment. I especially like the clip where all the characters are wine bottles (I'm guessing wine, anyway) on a bar counter. The little extra touch of simulating Darth's breathing by filling and emptying him really made that for me.

I saw this a while back, long before it was finished, and thought it was awesome.  I'll have to give a look now that's it's done.
