This is really surreal to me. I used to live in this town, and honestly? It's one of those places that only changes when it absolutely has to (and even then, with great reluctance), and if people have even heard of it it's always because they drove past it once or twice, or they're a member of the military and got posted to the base near there. Honestly, most people who stop there and don't live nearby only do so to fuel up, and then they're off to more exciting places (read: just about anywhere else).

But it's where I spent part of my childhood, and I do have some fond memories of the town. When this movie comes out, I doubt I'll care about how good it is because it'll probably still be a nice little nostalgic trip for me.

I'm very surprised that they chose to film it in the winter, though. A typical Saskatchewan winter is about -30 C (up to -50 C) with 1-3 feet of snow and windchill fierce enough to cause frost bite within minutes. They really lucked out on the freakishly warm weather the prairies have been getting, let me tell ya.

That's very cool, it's nice to see your old town in a movie.  I used to live in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.  They filmed the movie Mallrats at our local shopping mall.  Although I really didn't like the movie at all, I'd been to the mall many times and it's cool to see it in the movie.  They renovated the whole thing now and it's not even recognizable as the same place any more.
