I know similar threads have been started, but it's still fun to do once in a while.

If you feel like it, please take a few moments to explain your avatar and/or signature. Sometimes a member's avatar is obvious, or familiar, and needs no explanation. Other times I look at avatars or signatures and have no idea what it is or where it came from.

My avatar is the official spokecharacter for Dos Equis beer, The Most Interesting Man in the World. As far as I know, the character is known by that moniker but has no name. He is easily recognizable to Americans, but I have no idea if he is familiar to people from other countries. Perhaps our members from across the pond, down in Africa, or down-under can comment. Anyway, I've always liked the concept of the character and so his image has represented my profile here for some time now.

Mine should be obvious to most people.  I'm Quagmire, the sex-starved friend of the main character Peter Griffin in "Family Guy".

Its a bubble gum card from ISLAND OF LOST SOULS-and I do own the gum card-its displayed in my china cabinet with all sortsa other useless stuff.
My signature is a quote from the 1971 Robert Merrick doucumentary MANSON. I like it because when somebody asks me something I don't know the answer to-I give them a nonsense answer and say-"Aint it groovy?"

Mine is Tom hanks from that island movie i've never seen.  I chose it because my stuff is always so obscure.

I've often wondered which movie that was from. I figured it was either from Mazes and Monsters or He Knows You're Alone, neither of which I have seen but bits and pieces of. I have no idea what the "island" movie is you're talking about.

I actually picture most people on this board by their avatar pictures.

My picture is one of the stock pictures Andrew provided. It's from The Brain from Planet Arous, a movie I've never seen. I'm a bit overly-analytical, so it fits.

The phrase "My cat can eat a whole watermelon!" is from the obscure and bizarre Rubin and Ed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubin_and_Ed).

My avatar currently is from the "UFO" episode "Survival", a story somewhat akin to ENEMY MINE in which two stranded astronauts, one human and one alien - enemies, most work together in order to survive. The quote is actually from the late 60s Spider-Man cartoon, what the Radiation Specialist, my previous avatar says to Spider-Man. Actually I felt the quote still kind of fit with the UFO episode as well given some events that unfold in it. I generally like green skinned and space astronaut characters or guys wearing radiation suits for avatars. My nickname at one point in real life was "Spaceman" too.

Mine is a picture of me (or as close an approximation as I could get) made with an online anime avatar maker. I added the grey streaks to the beard myself.

My quote is from the Rifftrax Live performance of Magical Disappearing Money. Mike Nelson kept tossing in lines that made the Grocery Witch seem a little more satanic as she helped shoppers find bargains.

I have changed my Avatar a few times.  I used Burgermeister Meisterburger for a long time.  The one I use now is from Master of the Flying Guillotine.  It has nothing to do with a Burgomaster, but I think the guy's mustache makes him look like a Monty Python character.

I picked the templar from the blind dead as it seemed appropriate as I feel I'm wondering around with out really seeing at times and I liked it.  As for my signature, I feel lost in thought sometimes and not everything is coherent. 

Well, obviously, my avatar is Howard The Duck.  For several reasons: I feel a bit like Howard at times, cynical and a constant need/want to be left alone.  Bit of a wise-ass, too.  Also, the film version is probably the only film produced by George Lucas I liked.

A friend of mine drew my avatar for my birthday, as I'm a fan of the Puppet Master films.  Seemed appropriate for an avatar here, and also unique to me and my interests.  So there ya go.
