Title: Donald "Duck" Dunn dies at 70 years
Post by: Sleepyskull on May 14, 2012, 08:53:58 AM
I woke up humming Born Under a Bad Sign and saw that the bass player died. After a concert in Tokyo, he died in his sleep. He played with Albert King, Booker T and the MGs and performed with many others. I don't know a lot about his individual playing in particular, but it makes me sad anyway. Sleep well.

R.I.P. Donald "Duck" Dunn. They don't make bass players like that any more!

No way. He was the coolest guy in The Blues Brothers and he might have had one line in the whole movie. The shaggy hair and beard, shirt tail hanging out, pipe sticking out the side of his mouth, playing the bass. The guy had style, plus he had a cool name and he was a damn good bass player.
