Title: Polarising films: Night Skies (2007)

Title: Night Skies

Polarising status: Among the horror community, it was given a good review on the since closed "Slasherpool" which I'd considered possibly the best horror review site. Its IMDb is close to average (4.8/10)* as is its Amazon rating (3.5/5)

Description: Young adults meet aliens, although more atmospheric than many similar films and less reliant on gratuitous gore and body count

Notes: Its among the first horror films that I lay awake at night thinking about. Definitely disturbed me.

I'd consider it the best movie of the year 2007**, then I remember that's when I watched "Kairo", which I'd consider amongst the three top horror films of the millenium. Oops.

* - I consider the IMDb rating of any (non-science fiction) film that was broadcast over the Sci-Fi channel to be lower due to biased people - I'm convinced a percentage of IMDb'ers auto-rate non-sci-fi films broadcast over that channel 1/10

** - "The Mist" was delayed until '08 in the UK, while "The Last Winter" was similarly delayed

That's because the movie recycled the best parts from Fire In The Sky (1993)  :teddyr:

That said, I still enjoy Night Skies for what it is. Fun budget sci-fi horror.
