I'll tell you one thing, I cannot find Wall * E... yet. But I do think I see the robot navigator from the same film. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: El Misfit on May 24, 2012, 02:28:15 PM Bender, Gir, C3PO, Jet Jaguar, Robot Jones, EVA, Larry 3000, Robot Monster, Clank, R2D2, Tom Servo, Atlas, Jenny, Grounder, Rosey, B.E.N., Rodney Copperbottom, Calculan, and more.
There's one that I've seen before, but I really don't remember from which cartoon- the small blue robot with the big ear like things, in the lower left corner. Total- 24, possibly 25 if one of the robots is from Casshan- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casshan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casshan) Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: LilCerberus on May 24, 2012, 02:52:34 PM He's hidden behind K-9 & T-Bob, between the Bad Robot & The Cylon.

Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: LilCerberus on May 24, 2012, 04:39:47 PM There's one that I've seen before, but I really don't remember from which cartoon- the small blue robot with the big ear like things, in the lower left corner. It's from Heavy Metal (1981), voiced by John Candy, but I don't remember his name. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Flangepart on May 24, 2012, 05:03:44 PM I've I.D. d about 66. But also, I see Tom Servo, but no Crow or Gypse.
Also, Cybermen, Big Guy and Daleks have living beings inside, so I'd call them Mecha. And RE: Big Guy. where's Rusty the boy robot? Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: AndyC on May 24, 2012, 10:12:28 PM Didn't count, but I did identify most of them, and others definitely rang a bell. Didn't draw a blank on very many.

Remember? Instead of a pilot's cockpit, he had a giant cannon inside his chest. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Derf on May 25, 2012, 07:51:39 AM I didn't count, but I must say this: The Tin Man is not a robot nor in any way mechanical. That may not be a criterion for the drawing, but it seems implied. There. I said it and proved that I'm a dork. :tongueout:
Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Pacman000 on May 25, 2012, 09:41:04 AM Found EVE. (She's between Bender and the Tin Man. Start at Maximilian and go down.)
Still no Wall-E. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Pacman000 on May 25, 2012, 09:45:01 AM I found Wall-E!
Spoiler - - - - - - - - - - He's near the bottom, near the middle of the page, behind and to the left of K-9, who is behind and left of the robots from Silent Running. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Flangepart on May 25, 2012, 05:09:07 PM Hah! Very bottom screen left, 'Scout in a can' from SPACED INVADERS!
Also, Kryten and a scutter from RED DWARF. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: LilCerberus on May 25, 2012, 08:07:29 PM I didn't count, but I must say this: The Tin Man is not a robot nor in any way mechanical. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: JaseSF on May 26, 2012, 12:35:35 AM A number of these aren't true robots even though they are robotic in appearance. Still I recognized around 50 of these. Surprised they didn't have Data in there.

Still I recognized around 50 of these. Surprised they didn't have Data in there. Or Mechagodzilla. I guess it was too scary to draw... Or the artist could have fit only its feet in the picture. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: SynapticBoomstick on May 27, 2012, 11:51:41 AM OOOHHHH MY GOD THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER!!!!!
I starting jittering like an idiot when I spotted the Mark 13, that's great. The Bill and Ted bots, Johnny 5, the saucers from Batteries Not Included, and Bobou! Wow, I could rattle these off for hours, this made my day! :teddyr: Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: LilCerberus on May 27, 2012, 12:40:53 PM Noticed 3 dog-like robots, the only one I recognize is K-9 from Doctor Who, but I don't see DynoMutt.
They have one of the butler bots from Woody Allen's Sleeper, but no maid bot from Ritchie Rich. I would've liked to see Rover & Cori, from the Woner Woman episode IRAC Is Missing. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Archivist on May 28, 2012, 04:10:19 AM Geez, this is fantastic! Whoever drew this should get a medal.
I counted 44-45 that I can identify immediately. Many of them were complete blanks, though, which is either depressing or a relief. It's a relief that I only know 45 out of over 180 characters because it mean that haven't spent my entire life in front of a TV. It's depressing because I don't know them!!! The artist really knows his British scifi, too. He's got both versions of Marvin, from the TV and film versions of Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. He's also got the little red robot NoNo from the French/Japanese cartoon Ulysses 31; by some weird coincidence my brother got the box set this afternoon. He even has what I think is Kamelion, a shapeshifting android from the Peter Davison era of Dr Who. Wonderfully, he's got 7 Zark 7 from Battle of the Planets, and Metal Mickey!!! Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: DistantJ on May 28, 2012, 04:25:05 AM I really smiled when I saw Nono from Ulysses, Marvin from Hitchhiker's Guide, the moon robot from Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out Grounder from Sonic, and Alpha 5 from Power Rangers! And yeah, it's cool to see all the Doctor Who stuff, particularly both classic and modern types of Cyberman.
Wall-E is near the bottom, slightly to the left of the middle, by the way. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: LilCerberus on May 28, 2012, 09:39:01 AM Wall-E is kinda hard to spot, because they only show his face, & there are several other robots with identical faces.
Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Gene Worm on September 20, 2015, 03:28:11 PM This amazing artwork was created by Richard Sargent, if I got that name right. I'll try to identify them, but this one will be quite a challenge.
Also, Wall-E can be spotted in between the Cylon, K-9, T-Bob, Bad Robot, Chum, and the robot from the Green Cross adverts. Alright, here goes nothing. Post by: VenomX73 on September 20, 2015, 04:36:31 PM LOL I see Bubo from Clash of the Titans (1981)
(http://37.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_la0b7ruNCN1qdsdpco1_500.gif) Also, the Cat and mouse bots are from Tom and Jerry. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Yup! I loved Bubo, and I vaguely remember that episode. I think they called the mouse the "Mouse-ile"? Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Gene Worm on September 21, 2015, 07:41:52 AM Oh, I also happened to have seen Nomad from Star Trek, and the robot from those old Smash adverts.

And the red one in front of SPOT and GIR is a vacuum cleaner called "Henry". Which isn't even slightly related to a robot. Title: Re: How many can YOU I.D., Bot fans? Post by: Gene Worm on September 24, 2015, 10:26:42 PM Also, just remembered the robot from "Mother Riley Meets the Vampire"'s name (I just called it "Van Hoosen's Robot" in my list, because I forgot his name). It's "Mark 1".
