Title: Problem with Power Rangers Time Force
Post by: WyreWizard on June 14, 2012, 09:22:39 AM
Hey anyone remember the Power Ranger Time Force?  That show where rangers from the year 3000 travel back to 2000 to stop Ransik from taking over the period.

Well I found a little problem with Power Ranger Time Force.  The Rangers are without a Red Ranger because Ransik crippled their Red Ranger.  But they find Wes who is an ancestor of their Red Ranger.  They give Wes The Red Chronomorpher.  It accepts his DNA and he becomes their new Red Ranger!

But there is a problem with that.  Wes's DNA would be very different from his descendant's.  I mean think about it.  There are 3 to 4 generations in a century.  So figure 30 to 40 generations in a millennium.  With each new generation, new DNA strains are added to the mix.  Each generation would have different mothers or fathers coming in to contribute their DNA strains.

However, it is possible that the chronomorpher would detect certain elements in the DNA strain, like the neucleotides or neucleobases.

If you could go back in time 1,000 years or more and could find your distant ancestor and got a sample of his or her DNA and took it back to a lab in this time period, you'd find their DNA is radically different from yours.

Power Rangers is a kids' show. I'm sure the target audience doesn't worry much about scientific accuracy.

Just sayin'.

I see what you're saying. Agree too.

But it is a kids show.

That had a giant head doing battle with a 10,000 year old witch with a winged gold monkey.
