Apparently he had an idea to do an original sci-fi movie, but the studio wouldn't do it. They offered him in this remake, or nothing as far as sci-fi goes, and he wanted to do a sci-fi film, so this is what we get.

Title: Re: Total Recall (2012) Post by: dean on July 01, 2012, 06:17:47 AM You know, I am in two minds about Wiseman in general, he seems to be slumming it most of the time, but I have to admit the visuals and action I've seen so far have actually looked pretty damn good [forgetting about the whole remake part of it]
I know I'll be disappointed as I know he can't direct 'quiet' scenes and characters come off wooden and dull, but its at least looking ok so far: if you're going to be boring in characters, may as well up the scenery and action.
