I tried to like this movie but it got on my nerves too much. Title: Re: Box Office Horror Flashback: 1989 Post by: fulci420 on June 25, 2012, 02:02:40 PM Dont know why heathers shows up on horror lists. Its a fantastically written dark comedy but its intent is never to frighten. Kind of a weak year from a quick glance with few original ideas. Pet Sematary is among steven kings finest adaptations and deserves it spot here.

(Nightmare 5, Friday the 13th Part VIII, Return of the Swamp Thing, Halloween 5)
Title: Re: Box Office Horror Flashback: 1989 Post by: HappyGilmore on June 26, 2012, 08:46:51 PM Why is Little Monsters on this list?
It's a children's fantasy/comedy, starring Fred Savage, Ben Savage, Howie Mandel and Daniel Stern. Title: Re: Box Office Horror Flashback: 1989 Post by: Hammock Rider on June 28, 2012, 02:23:05 PM Wow, Return of the Swamp Thing was a bette movie than it's returns indicate. Not much better, but still.
Title: Re: Box Office Horror Flashback: 1989 Post by: retrorussell on June 28, 2012, 07:12:53 PM P.U.! Lot of stinkers on this list. Went to see NOES5 at the theater.. pretty bad. Went to see Little Monsters with my brothers, also terrible. Pumpkinhead was fairly good though.
Title: Re: Box Office Horror Flashback: 1989 Post by: FatFreddysCat on July 13, 2012, 10:56:23 AM I saw a couple of these in the theater - Halloween 5, Friday the 13th VIII, Robert Englund's Phantom of the Opera, and Leviathan.
I remember being so p*ssed off by Halloween 5 that I actually considered going to the manager and asking for my money back. When the end credits started rolling I sat there in my seat yelling "What the F*CK? They RUINED it!" :D Title: Re: Box Office Horror Flashback: 1989 Post by: Mr_Vindictive on July 13, 2012, 11:25:54 AM Really surprised by how little Heathers made!
And Leviathan is one my all time favorites. It takes so much from so many other films but is an enjoyable flick. Title: Re: Box Office Horror Flashback: 1989 Post by: Rev. Powell on July 13, 2012, 12:14:27 PM Wow, what a terrible year for horror films. :bluesad:
