Title: crazy optical illusion....
Post by: zombie no.one on July 13, 2012, 05:13:50 PM
expect a few of you will know this one, it's probably my favourite optical illusion

squares A and B are exactly the same colour (i.e. the same shade of grey)

Heh, I've seen that one lots of times and still don't get it. even with an explanation, there's no hope for me to understand that one.

here's one I've came by a few hours ago.

I grabbed the image, opened it with MS Paint, selected a small portion of A and stretched it down to B:

It may not explain the illusion, but it does help to toy with the image.

yup, if you connect them up it seems obvious they're the same shade. that little gap in the original makes all the difference

The easiest way is to block parts of the image with your hand, but it really is one of the most amazing illusions.

One I have sitting on my shelf to my right...

Here's the printout.

The lighting has to be good, and closing one eye helps, but it is a pretty cool illusion in person.

that dragon is great . although I suppose you have to be looking at it from the right angle.

here's another illusion I saw recently. very strange...

stare at the pic on the right for about 30-40 seconds, focusing on the red dot on her nose.

then look at the white section and blink your eyes quickly a few times

I've seen that done with the American flag.

I remember this one from grade school....young or old woman?
