Title: Scorpion Releasing Goes Blu-Ray!
Post by: claws on July 20, 2012, 10:47:38 PM
Yup, that fine little Indie label is going HD soon. Releases to expect (taken from Exclusive Interview With Walter Olsen Of Scorpion Releasing! (http://www.rockshockpop.com/forums/content.php?2500-An-R!S!P!-Exclusive-Interview-With-Walter-Olsen-Of-Scorpion-Releasing!)):

Day of the Animals (1977)
Grizzly (1976)
Human Experiments (1980)
Death Ship (1980)

and the long lost never released to DVD The Power (1984) by Stephen Carpenter & Jeffrey Obrow. From the same guys who directed The Dorm That Dripped Blood (1982) and The Kindred (1987). The Power is a supernatural possession/slasher/horror flick that actually made the box office top ten when first released to theaters back in 1984. Vestron released it to video in early 1985.

The Power looks fun.  Death Ship also looks weird and kind of interesting.

"Death Ship" is really bad, but a fine example of 1980s bad movie making.  "The Power" getting a new release is happy news.  I'll be picking that one up.
