Good night, SHERMAN.  We all loved you.  (I still quote George Jefferson from time to time: "Gimme room!")

R.I.P. Sherman Hemsley. As George Jefferson, you constantly made me laugh as I watched reruns of "The Jeffersons" as a kid. Heck you even made a movie starring Hulk Hogan a bit more tolerable. Hope you've moved on up.

The celebrities who entertained me so much as a kid just keep leaving us. Sherman Hemsley is almost more of a surprise than Andy Griffith was. We never really saw Sherman get old (and 74 ain't that old).

Been actually thinking about which stars of my favourite pre-1980 shows are still living. Gee, I hope Ed Asner and Russell Johnson are OK.

Another star from my teen years passes....and such a funny man he was. I loved his little part on "Love At First Bite".
