Title: Last Days Here
Post by: 66Crush on August 06, 2012, 02:08:01 AM
Is a documentary on Bobby Liebling (don't know if I got his name right), lead singer of obscure 70's and 80's metal band Pentagram. It's a very well done documentary about his struggle to make a comeback. This isn't like the Anvil Story and you probably won't be rooting for this guy. When we meet him he is gaunt drug addled zombie in his 50's living in his parents basement. It raised feelings of anger in me as Bobby gets chance after chance given to him by everyone and p**ses it away time and time again. I couldn't believe the loyal fan base this guy has. The music isn't even that good, it's just bargain bin Black Sabbath. His biggest fan is his manager who will do anything for the guy and Bobby even gets a pretty young girlfriend half his age. When I think about how much I've struggled as a musician, and what I would have done with all the support he got, it made me want to jump through the screen and strangle him! I'm sorry, it hits to close too home and someone should tell this guy what I've heard 1000 times "GET A F'N JOB!"

I actually LOVE Pentagram so I'd really like to see this one. Yeah they're a Sabbath ripoff band, but there's an entire genre of that type of stuff these days. Plus, I have to give Pentagram credit: they existed since the 70s which I think gives them a lot more cred than, say, Sleep or Sheavy (like them too, though).
