Title: What was it called?
Post by: Paul Beatty on September 03, 2012, 07:14:00 AM
A film, black and white I think and probably 1930-1960 range. A young woman is trapped by a man in a cage. She thinks she is being imprisoned against her will but in actuality is in an asylum being analysed. Freudian themes but in the end it turns out she is really an old woman with an obsession about age. The man trapping her is her analyst.

Though it was something like the Cage of Dr Caligari but can find no trace and its certainly not the classic silent film of similar title. Thought it started Ingrid Bergman but its certainly not Spellbound by Hitchcock.

Anyone any ideas. Good enough to stick in my mind for 40-50 years.

This sounds like the remake of CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI, from 1962, starring Glynis Johns.
