Title: Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! (2006)
Post by: voltron on September 03, 2012, 03:14:28 PM
The mother of a mentally challenged boy, Nicholas, begins a relationship with a lowlife grifter, Remington, who abuses the boy during a coke-and-hooker filled Easter party while Mom is at work. Soon, the party is crashed by a nutjob in an Easter Bunny mask who proceeds to kill off the partygoers in timely fasion. I did not enjoy this one in the least. The acting is quite lame (see: the actors playing Nicholas and Remington). Normally, I tend to enjoy bad acting, but unfortunantely the acting in this one was painfully self aware and really threw up the 'fourth wall'. The gore quotient is actually quite nice, but it does nothing to redeem the film's mediocrity. This is a good example of why I don't enjoy 'modern' horror/exploitation. If this movie was made in the 70s, with stronger acting, it would be an effective grindhouse type deal. But given that the film was made in the 00s, the faults of it are too numerous and frequent. Unfortunately, I had read that this was supposed to be quite the disturbing and twisted little film, which usually sends me running to eBay, but to me the only truly disturbing thing about it was how lacklustre the entire presentation and execution of it was. One to avoid.
