They're easy enough to set up, the only time consuming part might be if you've got wireless security and have to enter your code and that stuff. I'm an idiot when it comes to anything router-related, anyone who knows what they're doing would probably be done in a couple of minutes. We only use ours for streaming Netflix and they work fine. When the Netflix menu comes up it takes a moment to load itself, but that's only a tiny annoyance. We just use ours on our standard definition TV's so i can't comment on the HD picture quality.
