Post by: bolshevikred on October 06, 2012, 12:27:57 PM All I can remember is that it was a bit post apocalyptic and there was a heavy magic theme. People had magical abilities. And to demonstrate this, and introduce the villain, a man is killed in a bathroom by newspaper. Yes, death by paper cuts, swirling newspapers around this guy in a bathroom until he drops dead. I remember this running on Showtime or HBO in the early 90's so it was made between about 85-95, just guessing. I have been trying to find this movie for years and would love some help.

For some reason I thought it was playing cards, but either myself or the OP could be misremembering that detail. Still, I very much agree with Mofo Rising's answer.
