They normally wind up as a smear on my cricket bat. I don't know. Tarantulas, in spite of their size, don't seem as creepy to me as smaller spiders. It's the proportions and, of course, the fuzziness. A taratula is like a hamster with more legs and more eyes. Oh, and a poisonous bite. OK, not like a hamster at all, but still cuter than most other spiders. Mind you, they don't get much cuter than a jumping spider.
