It had a segment on Paul Blaisdell, but the segment was cut out of the main documentary; it was only accessible through special features. :bluesad:
Good article. I'm amazed that his suits actually look better in color than in black and white; normally it's the other way around. He had talent; I wish his career hadn't turned sour. I had read that Forrest J Ackerman, who once was friends with Blaisdell, refused to mention his mame in Famous Monsters, perhaps due to competition. Paul had caught wind of something wrote about him in Famous Monsters #1. He ragged FM-and publisher James Warren caught wind of it,and forbade Forry from ever mentioning Paul's name in the magazine ever again. Paul ,Bob Burns and Ron Haydock made Fantastic Monsters mag-which died when the printing office caught fire. Haydock died in a car wreck in 1977. |
