Title: TV episode about man and a steamer trunk
Post by: akiratubo on November 12, 2012, 01:16:06 AM
I'm pretty sure this was an episode of a TV show, though it might have been a segment of an anthology movie.

A man is delivered an antique steamer trunk.  He thinks it's a mistake but the delivery guy is sure he's got the right place.  The trunk has a heavy lock on it but no key.  The man tries to pick the lock and force the lid open to see what's inside but never can open it.  He has the trunk for a few days or weeks and his life begins to fall apart.  He can't sleep, he does poorly at work, his girlfriend leaves him, etc.  He starts going crazy, blaming the trunk for it because he thinks its cursed, or something.  Finally, at the end, he either gets it open or it opens on its own.  A monster hand shoots out of the trunk, pulling him inside.  The delivery guy shows back up to collect the trunk and, presumably, take it to the next unlucky sucker.  I think the delivery guy's company jacket says "Employee #666" or something corny like that.

Try the episode of Rod Sterlin's Night Gallery called Fright Night. It's about a locked chest that makes a ma go insane.
