Title: Old SF movie from the 80s or 90s Post by: elbitjusticiero on November 24, 2012, 10:45:23 AM Hi everyone, thanks for this forum. :) I've been searching for a movie I saw when I was younger, and I remember I liked it although it was certainly cheesy. It might not be American, for all I know. There is some kind of team assembled which includes your typical pretty brunette (or redhead?) in black clothes.
The only scene I can remember is one that struck me as dumb: they have to go to another planet to fight the bad guy, but he has the most powerful, or strongest, weapon in the whole universe, and they know they will be attacked with that weapon. Only the weapon ends up being nothing like what is advertised: it's something like a forcefield (there was some kind of visual effect to show it) that tries to destroy their minds or something while they are inside their spaceship, but they can resist it and go on. "We did it! We defeated the most powerful weapon in the universe!", she says when it's over (or something to that effect). You know, I get the impression that a simple laser beam or bomb would have been more effective. ;) Anyway, I'd like to know what movie it is, because I found it charming at least. Any ideas?
