Title: ZETA ONE [AKA THE LOVE FACTOR] (1969)

I'd never heard of this Bristish softcore spoof before, but it's available on Netflix streaming and on Blu-ray (!)

Check out the plot summary from IMDB: "A race of topless, large-breasted women from the planet Angvia, in another dimension, come to earth to kidnap women to repopulate their planet." That sounds like something you can't miss, right? Well, as you might expect it doesn't quite live up to the ridiculous promise of that summary. But the movie is kind of interesting as a relic of it's time. And the film achieves it's purpose of giving us an excuse to look at lovely naked and scantily clad women, so it's hard to complain.

*The film's structure is a secret agent being seduced by a beautiful blonde digging for information on his last mission. The rest of the movie is a flashback in which he's being seduced by another beautiful blonde! The hero actually spends the whole movie in bed with women and never actually plays any part in the main storyline about the aliens abducting women.
*What happened is that the filmmakers were making a moderately expensive sci-fi film spoofing BARBARELLA (the soundtrack and effects are a lot like that recent hit) and ran out of money, then added the spy scenes as a way to pad it to feature length.
*Speaking of padding, we watch the spy and a blonde play a game of strip poker---in real time. Shuffle the cards, deal the cards, look at the cards, draw, make bets---then remove a shoe. Next hand, please. This scene seems like it goes on for 10 minutes!
*Acting and technical aspects are professional---this is a cheap but glossy movie, it doesn't have a grindhouse look.
*The sex scenes are actually pretty well written and directed. It's refreshing to see how much tease and anticipation pornographers used to build into movies when they didn't have to rush to the hardcore sex.
*Try to guess why the spy wears a fake mustache in some scenes and not others.
*Someone else pointed out that this film is probably a huge influence on "Austin Powers."
*Those psychedelic kaleidoscope and lava-lamp effects still look cool to me. It helps that most of the scenes incorporate naked women.
*There is some intentional humor that kind of works. The strip poker scene has a funny punchline and there's a wisecracking elevator that's ahead of its time.
*Gotta love the army of kung-fu alien babes in bikini bottoms, pasties and pageboy wigs.
*The alien lair has escape ducts helpfully placed in every room.
*According to another review, the continuity director had her name removed from the credits!

Overall there are lots of dull parts that hold this back from being a bad movie classic. But, most people on this board are used to soldiering through the boring bits to get to the good stuff. I'd say it's an average view for bad move fans. It probably helps to be a heterosexual male.

That was my favorite part     I never got bored with the strip poker game either

That's actually available on Blu ray believe it or not.  I might...might...maybe when it's a little cheaper.
