Title: STITCHES (2012)
Post by: indianasmith on April 14, 2013, 07:51:03 AM
I rented this Irish horror film last night and found it to be rather entertaining in an awful sort of way.

A group of very obnoxious kids are gathered at their friend Tom's house for his tenth birthday party, and his mother has paid a clown to show up.  The clown, a bumbling drunk who goes by "Stitches", finds that these kids are a bunch of monsters who swear at him, throw things at him, and generally act horribly.  But when one of them ties his shoes together while he is juggling, Stitches stumbles and falls onto a dishrack full of kitchen knives and dies in a horrifically bloody scene.

Fast forward six years.  Tom has grown up pretty scarred by his experience, and his mom is going out of town on business. He invites a few friends over, and it sort of mushrooms into a huge birthday party with lots of alchohol, loud music, bullies, and the vengeful spirit of Stitches the clown showing up to wreak his retribution on the little punks who killed him.

Just a few notes here - first of all, one of the teachers at the Catholic school these teens attend has the  WORST!!! COMBOVER!!!! in the history of combovers!  Seriously, it is worth the price of the rental just to see how absolutely awful this combover is.  I can't even describe it.
Secondly, the gore is ridiculously over the top!  I mean, this movie has some of the bloodiest and most creative kill scenes I have seen in a long, long time!
Last of all, when Stitches finally meets his comeuppance, his meltdown just has to be seen to be believed.
All in all, a great movie for gorehounds - but if you are afraid of clowns,  don't touch this thing with a ten foot pole!

I'm going to watch this if for no other reason than that!  I HATE clowns!!! I watch these kinds of movies to remind me why I hate clowns.
