I wish Zack Snyder would really try to be more original, and I also can't help hating CGI. I just can't relate to it. But I also hope I'm just being an old cranky bastard about all this. For all it's faults, Superman Returns at least tried to look bright, larger than life, and awe inspiring I'm not sure: there looks to be a few moments in this which hint at a major part of the plot making Superman the 'inspirational idea of good in the world'. With that there will be stupid effects/fights and drama but if they can hold that onto that core idea this Superman movie may just be the one that I'll really enjoy: I found Returns too silly and the others a bit too cheesy and despite my general hate for Superman stories in general I think that this has the potential to be one that I'll actually enjoy. I'm holding my breath in any case. |
