Title: Early 80's horror - when U could actually own a video for $60 !! Post by: DmR of AtoZ on June 20, 2013, 06:27:42 PM I saw this flick while working at one of the first video-rental stores, back in `83. Twas Video Shack in Bergen County, N.J.
Well . . . I saw at least the first few scenes on a VCR with other employees “in the back” . . . then I must’ve had to get back on the floor for customers willing to spend 60 bucks to actually “own a video tape” ! the movie opens with a flashback to a rural isolated bus stop. a women gets off the bus and is soon chased through woods by some sort of fiendish thing. She runs till she hits a tree and is knocked out. She is then dragged through the woods with her breasts exposed ( for some vital reason ). Her car breaks down...the husband goes for help...the monster chases her into the woods,yanks her shirt off,and rapes her. Her muddy boobies jiggle.

If nothing else, you got to say "muddy boobies jiggle". :twirl: The Wikipedia entry sure describes it right. I never got to see it past the opening flashback back in `83, so there was nothing in the laughably foreboding trailer I recognized. Strangely tho', I found that 1channel had several links to the full film, for which their poster shows something called "Das Engels Gesicht", directed by none other then Wolf Wolff !! Not the right flick I'd wager . . nor did what I watched seem right ( it was largely about the avian flu ) but the descriptions match. Thanks to you now, I know the right title anyway ! Just as a curiosity, and perhaps a nod to the actor, the reviews for the Beast Within (and Fangoria magazine) said that actor Paul Clemens had a very "cherubic" face. So perhaps Das Engles Gesicht was the same film, with the title nodding to the baby-face of the actor and his role as the monster. Just a thought. |
