Title: Mad Max 4????
Post by: Bushma on June 28, 2013, 08:34:33 AM
I was sitting at my desk this morning, and I was thinking it'd be fun to listen to some Mad Max while I work.  So I was looking on youtube and I stumbled across this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-OV8L4_NvA

I assumed it was fake so I checked IMDB, and sure enough.

Mad Max: Fury Road
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1392190/

I have the feeling I'm going to be disappointed in this.

MEH.

I haven't liked Tom Hardy in a single thing I've seen him in, and I have a feeling this won't be the product that changes my mind.  And is this supposed to be a sequel or a remake?  Y'know what it doesn't matter, I'll just stay home and watch ROAD WARRIOR again.

This has "wait for Netflix . . . and then don't rent it" written all over it.

Hopefully if they do make it, it will be as awesome as the first!

Had it not say Mad Max 4, I would have assume it was a Fall Out Movie, since that seems to be the norm now (seriously, a Need for Speed movie and an Assassin Creed's movie?) One thing that strikes me as odd is that this just looks like Road Warrior with the cars, I know it's suppose to be the Apocalypse and all, but that shouldn't be a near mirror identical to Road Warrior! I would just wait for Netflix, unless somebody would want to go see it, then I'll go with them.

Hmmm....probably wait to rent it so I don't spend too much.

Maybe they are making it as a promotional tool for the "Mad Max" video game that is coming out on the next generation game consoles....

I can see that kind of thing happening. Sadly, I can.

I just don't think filmmakers in 2013 are capable of comprehending what it was that made those movies so magic back in '79 and '81.

I wanted to be excited for this movie, but the trailer looks recycled...
It also kinda looks like it borrows from Doomsday (2008)

i think George Miller said it's a reboot but not a remake cause the story of the original film has already been told. and i think it takes place 6 months or 6 years after his family his killed. so it's maybe a little bit of both actually.

I think quite literally the only person who gave a negative review was this site's Boyscoutkevin.

I for one loved it. Great crazy action film.

Dunno it will have a similar positive impact on Bluray/DVD, but seeing it in the theater was simply amazing. Two hours almost non stop action complete with stunning visuals and well done stunts. And it wasn't even slowed down by something like a deep plot. :bouncegiggle:

Ignore my previous comment.  I saw this movie and it is a top-notch action flick, with some of the best uses of 3-D I have seen in a long time.

I saw this on Sunday and I think the movie can best be summed up by ChaosTheory.

MEH.

What I hated the most about this movie was that I cared NOTHING for the characters. Characters would get hurt, die, get captured and I simply didn't care. With Road Warrior I felt sorry when characters died. Not here.

Now I realize that I appear to be in the minority in my opinion so I encourage you to see it for yourself.

Yes, the 3D was really good!
