Title: Horror films of the year 2013 - did I miss anything? Post by: BakuryuuTyranno on August 27, 2013, 12:19:27 PM Just seems like theres been nothing exactly mind-blowing, like say Pontypool or Absentia
The best horror I've seen this year were Banshee Chapter and Antisocial, the latter of which was pretty much Pontypool-lite, but because I consider Pontypool the millenium's best horror, "Pontypool-lite" is still very good. Anyone know whether there's anything good I've missed? For reference, notable stuff I've seen and thoughts: Very good: Dark Skies Hypothermia The Wrong House Frankstein’s Army Antisocial Banshee Chapter Good movies I don’t love like others do: The Conjuring The Dead 2: India R.I.P.D. Willow Creek Didn’t care for: Hollow The Purge The ABC’s of Death Curse of Chucky No One Lives Eagerly awaiting: Stranded Shadow People Come Out and Play The Dyatlov Pass Incident You’re Next Outpost 11 Rites of Spring V/H/S II Not wasting time watching: The Last Exorcism part 2 Insidious part 2 Paranormal Activity part 39874031967497-And-Infinity Seems odd that this year would be the first without anything mind-blowing since '08. Good atmosphere and sense of tension, the characters weren't bad either.
