Post about movies with terrible or non-existent end morals.

BULLY.  This movie does offer a good deal of nudity by some attractive young actresses, but there is not a single admirable character in the whole thing.  It is essentially a story of a bunch of incredibly stupid young hooligans who swear, drink, get high, have sex, and plot to kill one of their friends who is even more obnoxious than the rest of them.  Their parents are all clueless, self-centered jerks, too.  This is literally one of the worst movies I have ever seen, in terms of the utter lack of morality its characters display.  And, to make it even more depressing, it is pretty closely based on a true story.

Just the trailer of Bullywas enough to put me off watching it.  :buggedout:

Bully is actually one of my most favourite movies. But yes, the characters are not likeable and have no morality, just like every other movie by the same director. Kids for instance has absolutely nothing even close to morality, I hated all the characters for being stupid teenagers who think they are some center of the world.

Huge fan of Bully and think its lack of morality is one of its strongest points. IMO considering the true to life subject matter it would be a disservice to the actual events to portray these characters in any other way. Their moral deficiencies would only be a problem if the film was trying to glorify their actions which is absolutely the opposite not what is going on in the film. Amazing performance's from Brad Renfro and Nick Stahl only add to what is a fantastic daring movie.

I prefer films that give me some hope for humanity - especially when they are true stories!

well if they are a true story then they can't have much hope for humanity. Real life isn't a fairy tale, especially when it comes to murder.

Another film that falls into this category is The Curve aka Dead Man's Curve which is about the 4.0 university pass myth and what some students will do to get it. The last few minutes of that film are really scary.  :buggedout:

A Serbian Film. Obvious choice but it's fitting for this thread.

You could say that A Beautiful Mind  offers up the bad moral that severe mental illness can be overcome by willpower alone.  I know the film is based on actual events, but it also diverged on them in a lot of instances.

We had a discussion about Iceman a few years ago and all agreed we were pretty disgusted by the scientists' insensitivity in dealing with the Iceman, key word MAN.
