I wasn't familiar with her outside of "The Simpsons" till fairly recently, when I started watching reruns of the old 70s "Match Game" on Game Show Network where she was an occasional panelist.
According to the Simpsons Facebook page, the show will retire Mrs. Krabappel. Wonder how they're going to handle that.
