Title: ALL HALLOW'S EVE (2013)
Post by: indianasmith on November 01, 2013, 09:50:58 PM
This was the next to last of the movies I rented to watch on Halloween, and I didn't get around to it so I watched it tonight instead.  This was an amazingly creepy film!  I don't have a general fear of clowns, which is a good thing, because if I did I would have done a Trevor in my undies!!!

Here is the basic storyline:  a young woman named Sarah is babysitting two preteen kids for some friends of hers - a brother and a sister - on Halloween night so her friends can go to a party.  She has already taken them trick-or-treating as the film begins, and they are sitting in front of the TV, winding down for the night, when the boy dumps out his Halloween sack and finds an unmarked VHS tape in it.  He has no memory of who put it in there, and the babysitter doesn't want to let him and his sister watch it . . . but after making sure it isn't a porno, she agrees to watch part of it with them.  What they see is a rather terrifying short film about a girl waiting for the subway who is abducted by an incredibly creepy clown figure, who takes her to a chamber deep underground where she is terrorized by a bunch of black-clad people in hideous masks. Right before she is raped by the devil, the tape ends - and the babysitter hustles the kids off to bed.  But after they are asleep, she puts the tape back in . . . and we are treated to two more very creepy short stories, with the evil clown appearing in each one - and coming across more nasty and twisted each time.
After Sarah gets weirded out and goes to check on the kids, she comes back down and the tape begins to play by itself . . . and the footage is of her . . . with the clown in the background.
Predictable at times but nonetheless effective, I really enjoyed this set of horror vignettes, and I am going to have a hard time getting the creepy whitefaced killer out of my head tonight!
