Adds a different meaning to the saying, "I just love you to death."

Yeah, sadly, having seen the other 2 films, I think Love Goddesses Of Blood Island was more polished than the main features. Of course, given the films we are talking about, a turd is a turd no matter how shiny.

The commentary on this DVD is amazing. If you get a chance listen to it. All about making the crazy world of Florida film making.

Regional Horror Films by Alan Albright covered alot of Florida filmmakers. Director William Grefe comes across as a good ol' boy just making pictures in his interview, but when you read interviews with other folks who worked with him, he is made out of be a bit of a manipulative weasel.

There was an incident while making Impluse in which a safety harness failed when Shatner was supposed to be hanging Harold Sakata (Oddjob). Sakata was actually strangling on the rope. Shatner jumped in to hold him up until someone could cut the rope. Grefe blew it off with something like "I had no idea what was going on." Other people have said that Grefe knew Sakata was strangling and kept shooting to make it look more "real".

I tend to think others are probably right about Grefe, but Sakata is dead, and Shatner doesn't talk about it much.

If I'm lucky enough to go to the Kansas City Comic Con, Shatner is supposed to be there. I want to meet him, and then I want to ask what he thought of William Grefe. Ooh, and get Wil Wheaton to sign my copy of his early turd, The Curse!

I thought "Death curse of Tartu" was about the city in Estonia - I would have watched that!

In the commentary he says there were water moccasins but he told the actors that they are afraid of people. All those marsh lands in the movie are fancy condos now.
