Cool!  My folks or sister have some I'll need to borrow.  I recognized the date on these right off the bat, by some of the flicks I recognized.  I've always wanted to see THE FIFTH FLOOR; it sounds so awesomely cheesy.

I saw THE FIFTH FLOOR at the drive-in!  I can't remember the other movie on the double feature, but it might have been DON'T GO IN THE HOUSE.  Anyway, THE FIFTH FLOOR is very cheesy . . . but Bo Hopkins is in it, so it's definitely worth seeing.

I also love these movie ads.  I love the "Something Weird" DVDs that have these ads in the special-features section.  Even better is when they have the old drive-in "let's go to the snack bar" reels on the DVDs.  Sometimes, I pop in those DVDs and just watch the drive-in reels without watching the movies that are on the disc.

What a outrageously awesome collection of clippings from days gone by! I remember seeing many of these movie ads in the newspapers back in the day and begging my parents to take me to see some of them.  I also remember seeing ads for "Zombie" and "Dawn" and "Day" Of The Dead in the papers too, and as far as that goes, the last two movies I'd ever got to see at a drive-in were Day Of The Dead and Friday The 13th-The Final Chapter at the now long-gone Somerville drive-in in old Somerville, New Jersey.

Do drive-in's still exist anywhere in the world? I'd love to go to one, something cool about being outside and watching a movie - what happened if it rained? I also like the idea of sneaking into them to see a free movie, seems easier than an indoor place! Or just park a fan and sit on the roof outside the fence  :bouncegiggle: like people used to do with football games

I live about a fifteen minute drive from one (I live in New Jersey, it's just over the border into upstate New York) but I've never actually seen a movie there.  :bluesad:

There are two in my area (about 45 - 60 minutes away).  We try to go once every year or two (or three).  It's a fun novelty, but the "magic" seems to be gone.  I'd love to see someone open a drive-in that showed old drive-in classics from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.  I saw some interesting movies at the drive-in during the 70s: THE EXORCIST, LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT, THE HOUSE THAT VANISHED, THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD, THE FIFTH FLOOR, DON'T GO IN THE HOUSE, THE WARRIORS, CHEECH & CHONG'S UP IN SMOKE, and a great 007 triple feature of DR. NO, FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, and GOLDFINGER.

These clippings are great. Reminds me of when I was a kid, my Dad would bring home the two New York tabloid newspapers every day (The Daily News and the New York Post) and of course the movie sections in both papers were HUGE, especially on Fridays, with tons of ads for everything from wide-release "A" list blockbusters to weird grindhouse horror flicks. I used to clip them out and make "collage" posters out of them.
