Title: The Mortal Instruments, City of Bones Post by: Dr. Whom on April 14, 2014, 08:00:33 AM I was fully expecting to like this movie. I have a weakness for silly self-indulgent movies with everything, and this certainly seemed to have everything, demons, half-angels, vampires, warlocks, werewolves, magic objects, a chosen one...
Yet what a mess! What is going on in this movie? What possesses the characters to act the way they do? What is the point of all this? (in fairness, I wasn't entirely sober when I watched it, I may have missed bits) Also, we have the most awkward love story ever documented on film. Even Twilight was better. Of the few things I've seen him in, (Sweeny Todd and the only season of Starz's Camelot.) he's typically the weakest point in them. Other then that, I really didn't see anything about this film that made me want to see it. Just about everybody else is equally unwatchable.
